Kentucky Mint Cooler

Welcome to the first post of a new blog of one of Las Vegas’s finest “Cocktail Engineers”, Robert Erhart Jr.

If the Kentucky Derby went by too fast for you and you wish you were still enjoying a mint julep while wearing some fashionable hat then this drink might be able to get you by until the next Run for the Roses.   The Kentucky Mint Cooler.  A very easy to make (no need to muddle mint leaves) and even easier to drink mint cooler..
The Recipe:

4-5 leaves mint
2 1/2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. green creme de menth
1/2 oz. rock candy syrup
top with ginger ale

delicious and refreshing! The mint was not too overwhelming and the bourbon was smooth. Kentucky Derby or not, this would still make a great summer drink!

Looks good, but where’s the picture of the green tongue afterward? :) Oh, I have those same glasses. Simple and sweet style. I’m lookin’ forward to the next drink.
